What personal information may be held
The personal information I hold depends on the relationship you have with Sembee.
It may include your name, employer or organisation, job title, business email address, telephone number, postal address and details contained in correspondence with me.
Where I am providing consultancy, technical support, mentoring or other professional services, I may also hold information connected with the work being carried out. This can include technical records, support information, meeting notes, documentation and other information supplied by you or by your organisation.
If Sembee provides domain registration or management services, I may also process registrant and administrative information required to register and manage domain names.
Where it comes from
How I obtain personal information
Most personal information is supplied directly by you or by the organisation you work for.
This may happen when you email or telephone me, engage Sembee to provide a service, take part in a meeting or mentoring session, or otherwise correspond with me as part of a business relationship.
I may also receive business contact information from an MSP, client, supplier or other organisation where it is necessary for me to work with you on their behalf.
Some information may come from publicly available business sources, such as company websites, professional profiles or public registers.
How information is used
Why I process personal information
I use personal information where it is necessary to operate Sembee and provide the services requested from me.
This can include:
- responding to enquiries and discussing potential work;
- providing consultancy, technical support and project services;
- providing technical mentoring and review sessions;
- communicating with clients, MSPs, suppliers and other business contacts;
- registering and managing domain names for clients;
- maintaining records of work carried out and decisions made;
- issuing invoices, maintaining accounting records and managing payments;
- meeting legal, regulatory, tax and contractual obligations;
- protecting Sembee's systems, clients and business interests; and
- understanding and improving the performance of this website.

I do not sell personal information.
Personal information may be shared with organisations that provide services needed to operate Sembee or to provide the service you have requested. Depending on the work involved, these may include hosting, email, accounting, backup, security, domain registration and other IT service providers.
Information may also be shared with a client's MSP, IT provider, supplier or other relevant third party where that is necessary to carry out agreed work.
Where Sembee provides domain registration services, information may be supplied to the relevant domain registry, registrar or other organisation involved in registering and maintaining the domain.
I may also disclose information where required by law, a court, a regulator or another authority with a lawful right to request it.
International processing
Where information may be processed
Some of the technology and service providers used by Sembee may process or store information outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, I will use services and arrangements intended to provide the safeguards required by UK data protection law.
Retention
How long information is kept
I keep personal information only for as long as there is a reasonable business, contractual or legal reason to retain it.
Different information needs to be retained for different periods. For example, financial and accounting records may need to be retained to meet statutory requirements, while technical records may be retained where they remain useful for supporting an ongoing client relationship or documenting work that has been carried out.
Information that is no longer required will be deleted, anonymised or otherwise disposed of appropriately.
Security
Protecting personal information
I use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the information held by Sembee from unauthorised access, loss, disclosure or misuse.
No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but security is treated as part of the normal operation of the business and the IT services used to store and process information.

Sembee does not operate a general consumer mailing list.
